Looking to the new year, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Niall Eastwood as JCI Cambridge 2018 President.

Niall moved to Cambridge from Northern Ireland in September 2016, and joined the Chamber in January 2017 in an effort to socialise and get out of his comfort zone. Since becoming a member, Niall has been actively involved in planning and running activities, putting himself forward  to showcase unprecedented events for the Chamber. Blog » niallEastwood.jpg

His active involvement has led to gaining worthwhile experience by managing projects, running our Business Books & Beers Club, creating valued partnerships within the community and more. Niall led one of our flagship community projects this year – British Sign Language Interpreted Training Workshop, aimed at an hearing and non-hearing audience.

Niall’s enthusiasm and drive has also been fuelled by the many training events he attended across the country such as “Public Speaking Academy” and “Leadership In Action Programme (LEAP)”.

“I must say that I feel grateful to have stumbled across JCI and all it has to offer. The personal development opportunities as well as the friendships and social experiences are truly fantastic, you just need to put the effort in to make the most out of it! I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking to develop themselves and get involved in some exciting projects.”

Niall’s appointment reflects the Chamber’s vision for the future. It is safe to say that working closely with the current president, Naily Makangu, has prepared Niall for this leadership position, an exceptional opportunity to further grow and prosper the Chamber in the Cambridgeshire area.

“The JCI incubator project for 2018 is my idea for a project that will give members the best possible opportunity to develop the skills of a successful entrepreneur. From pitching to negotiating and managing a project to developing a product or service that can make a profit.”
