In the sumptuous Grand Harbour Hotel, over 170 guests turned up at the masquerade themed gala dinner and award ceremony that concluded the annual Junior Chamber International (JCI) UK National Convention. The event was held on Saturday the 25th of November 2017.  Despite wearing masks, we couldn’t help but recognise JCI members, senators, supporters and friends from all over the world including JCI Malta, JCI USA, JCI Ireland, JCI Scotland, and our very own Nigel Adkins, former Southampton and Premier League football manager.

After enjoying a delicious three-course meal, the masks finally came off and JCI Cambridge was in the spotlight.  JCI Cambridge was recognised for its versatility, strength, uniqueness, passion and strong leadership and we were delighted to receive the following awards:

  • “Best Local Community Empowerment Program” for the Deaf Awareness Program

  • “Best Local Growth & Development Program” for the Micro-volunteering Program

  • “Most Outstanding Leader” awarded to Naily Makangu (JCI Cambridge President)

  • “Best Trainer” awarded to Naily Makangu

Watching members develop and grow has been truly inspirational and gave me the strength to continue leading JCI Cambridge, working with the team to provide even more opportunities for growth.
